Change Management in Government Purchasing sure causes chaos indeed. In fact we have a whole company under investigation who will be paying 100s of million dollars in fines because it hired a government purchasing agent from the United States Air Force to come work for them and she took the job while she was still working on other military contracts and procurement solicitations which involved the very large Aerospace Company she went to work for. You can begin to see the importance of issues in government procurement and purchasing and the effect they have on the free market, companies stock price, major deals and consider the huge number of United States manufacturing and or service jobs which also hang in the balance of all of this? Change management in government procurement is quite serious and since the dollars of many of these contracts are so high, it is amazing how serious it gets so fast. As we study change management in Corporations where it is often also critical imagine that you are a company, which does US Government contracting and in the middle of your contract when a change in government procurement management happens? Or what if a change occurs during the solicitation period and they change people on you and suddenly what someone promised you is now invalid and will require a change order and until then you are technical violation of your contract? Well it happens and it can ruin companies and the government, well do you think they care? Consider all this in 2006. |
